How To Focus and Be Persistent

“Focus and atrocities concentrated on ANYTHING will cause a reaction” – Abraham Lincoln

How do you do that? Well, here’s a short list, from my personal experience over the last couple of years.

Nothing worth anywhere near as much can be achieved without focus. Life’s all about priorities, right? Agonizing how to establish your priorities and how to work on organizing all those priorities in order to support what you want to achieve. In the personal development and sports arena, focus is 67% of what gets you where you want to go in terms of success. We’ve all heard about the grains of sand that we’re subject to, and how managing the sand is the focus to sand.

So, here I have to ask you the following question:

How focused are you to making your life the way you want it to be?

(I’m glad you asked)

Okay, so then, how do you focus on what you want? By creating your vision board, finding a movie on an instant messenger service that that inspires you, or by listening to some music that allows you to step away from your 100% attention zone and re-energize.

Focus is a process that goes through stages as well. It starts with lack of focus. If you’re at home working on a project and you need to check email, you’re unfocused and need to step away and regain your focus.

Next, and this is a part of the focus process, you’re focusing on what you want to achieve. You know what makes you happy, what you’re good at and what you really love to do. As a business owner, it’s tough to find work that allows you to do what you love to do AND it’s hard to create a business in an environment where that’s true. So it sometimes requires stepping away from your work to find the work that allows you to love what you do and what works for you.

Then, you focus on how you can not only make that happen, but make it happen a lot more often than you could right now. What you focus on is all up to you based on what you want for yourself and for your family. Maybe in terms of your work, you might focus on being productive at what you’re good at so that you have a capacity in the marketplace for customers to get what you sell in a very efficient manner. You know, finding products and services that your potential customers can use to their greatest advantage.

And you focus on improving your business every day, maybe by making it more efficient, more productive and more in demand. Maybe you find new ways of marketing yourself by represents new methods and new formats, and you onto more of them. Or maybe you start to bring new products to market that you think are going to make your value even greater. Focused on what you want that you might create more value and customers.

And, finally, you focus on what you want in life and how to get it, so you can look back and say, “Wow! Look at how far I’ve come.” And then, you say “I did it, look how good I’ve become, look at what I’ve created now.” The beauty of this is that if it’s not resolving something wrong for herself or for her kids, it’s teaching her what exactly she wants in life. The next levels, the higher levels.

So, to answer the question “how to focus?” This is what I know works for me:

(1) Do whatever you can to get experience in what you want.(2) Easily acknowledge my feelings so that I get a sense of what to do differently next time and decide how to apply myself.- I love how I feel right now and focus on that, staying aligned with my goals and what I want to create.- Expect things to change and get a flexible plan of action in place.- Keep expanding my horizons and get out of my comfort zone, in order to experience more in my career, work and make my business grow.- Make time for play for relaxation and inspiration.- Stick with motivation and stick with inspiration.

“You are the sum total of the five people you spend the most time with.”
